Chicago Tops L.A., to Bid for 2016 Games - New York Times
Bravo to the Chicago Olympic committee for winning the vote and getting this great city one step closer to bringing the 2016 Olympics to Chicago for the first time.
On a side note…
I'd like to mention just how BRILLIANT the logo for Chicago 2016 really is. Rarely do you see a logo that is so simple and so meaningful. This is my interpretation of this logo:
FLAME: The red "flame" at first looks like the fire of the Olympic Torch. In fact when you look closer it's Chicago's famous skyline. However, the flame/skyline symbolizes something more. It's a reflection of Chicago rising from the great fire of 1871 to become one of the world’s biggest metropolises. This also could be a symbol of rising above set backs and challenges (the bases of Olympic dreams). The yellowish/orange almost appears to be beams of sunlight peering through the buildings, which yet again could being a symbol of a bright outlook or of hope.
BASE OF TORCH: The base of the torch is a complement to Chicago’s amazing lakefront (the blue) and natural resources. The blend of green could represent Chicago’s extensive parks and the city’s motto “The City in a Garden”. (Visit the Chicago Park District)
FONT: Simple, modern, and a reflection of art-deco. This is yet another hint to Chicago’s long history of architecture from greats like William LeBaron Jenney, Louis Sullivan, and Frank Lloyd Wright, and the heavy influence of this architectural style in the city.
Great job! VSA Partners

Prehistoric Television
Are the networks that desperate for new shows? Can the Geico cavemen make it in prime time? - By Seth Stevenson - Slate Magazine
I've got some ideas that can be added to bad shows:
"Are you smarter than a 5th grade Caveman"
"Apprentice: Trump vs. Cavemen"
"The Bachelor: Women so desperate to find a husband and be on TV that they’re willing to bone a Caveman”
(that one might be a bit long for a name of TV show)
"Cave Living: Martha Stoneart"
