Christmas Solo

The streets are quiet, sidewalks empty, and a chilled wind knocks at my window as I celebrate Christmas, my way, with holiday tunes and feasting on Doritos. This year’s been a busy blur, and I'm just not sure I’ve got the energy for any holiday cheer. I just need to catch my breath and do Christmas alone.

This year’s been crazy; job crunch, flash floods, bills piling up, everybody in pink, New York deux, and mad holiday rush. Damn! I need a break, time to unwind and do Christmas right this time. No bah humbug, just need to fly solo on this one.

Still, it would have been nice to seen the fam or have someone to hang out with…

Holiday Fifteen

The holidays are always a great time to catch up with friends and family, enjoy tasty treats, elaborate dinners, and drink lots of your favorite beverages. If you work in an office that enjoys their sweets like mine does, then expect over exposure to tons of candy, cookies, and free lunches almost on the daily.

In the world of sales, especially design, you’re working the networking circuit at fancy martini bars, sponsoring lunch-n-learns, taking clients out to their favorite restaurants, and entertainting a lot! Today for example we had pastries from Au Bon Pain, lunch from Portillo’s, and then on Friday I head to Sepia for a business meeting and appreciation lunch for one of our clients. Needless to say I’ve been pigging out all week.

Combining the holidays with my line of work has built up to an average of about 10-15 extra pounds. Although I could careless what people think about my weight gain, I am starting to feel a little lethargic. Thank god the “stuff your face” season is almost over, and I can get back on my Nicole Richey diet of Quaaludes and liquid lunches.

"for the cost of a few cups of your morning coffee"

Drew Peterson set up a website earlier today asking the public to help defend justice and find his wife. The DefendDrew.com site was only up for a few hours before it was disabled--most likely due to complaints.

On the site it had the "story" from Drew's perspective, links to missing adults, a plea to the public for justice and a fair trial, statistics on how many people each year are wrong convicted of a crime, and of coarse how to donate. The best line on the site read for the cost of a few cups of your morning coffee donors can help fund the legal defense so a private investigator can be hired to help find Peterson’s missing wife Stacy.

Isn't that a Save the Children line? Maybe Drew should get Sally Struthers as his spokeswoman?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? You want the public to help you get away with murder! The only way Stacy is going to surface is face down in the canal.

No thanks, I'd rather have my grande Americano!
