trim the fat
Ok, I admit I've got a little extra junk in my trunk lately, so I'm determined to trim down. My goal is to drop 10 pounds by June and this is how I'm going to do it:
Exercise
Working out is going to be the key to loosing the weight and redefining my body.
- Cardio 3x's a week (running or water polo)
- weights 2-3x's a week
Diet
Diets rarely work for me, so I'm going to take a sensible approach to watching what I eat and tracking it. I found a great free online program called Fitday.com that will monitor and calculate your daily intake.
Cutting down on soda and late night snack will be on the path to a healthier new Troy. It’s amazing how bad soda is for you, even diet (probably worse), so I’ll be switching to water, Gatorade, or juice.
Two really big challenges for me will be limiting the amount of coffee and alcohol (not together) that I drink. I love to socialize and the day just doesn’t begin until I’ve had my Americano. However, coffee packs a ton of useless calories, so I’ll be switching to green tea. It has more antioxidants and zero calories…it’s just better. As for alcohol, well its no secrete the affects alcohol has both on your body and pocket book. I'm going to switch from my favorite Harp beer to rum and diet coke. Despite what diet coke does to the boddy, I'm still going to be eliminating a big part of my calorie intake. Not to mention I’ll still be able to hang out with my friends and not feel like I'm giving up everything.
Sleep
I’ve heard over and over again the positive benefits of getting a full nights rest. Being that I'm a night owl and I work the early day shift this can be difficult. It can be especially challenging to get enough sleep when I work out late, which can keep me up. I’ve got to train myself to get in bed at a decent hour and stop playing on the computer so much. I might even invest in a TV and veg for the last hour before I go to bed…yes, I don’t have a TV.
If all else fails then I'm going on the Nicole Richie diet or getting lipo,
